Start with the arithmetic
A binary option pays a fixed share of the stake when you are right and takes the whole stake when you are wrong. Because the payout is always below 100%, winning half of your trades is a slow way to lose.
The table below gives the win rate at which you only break even. It is the stake divided by the stake plus the payout. Fees, spreads and missed entries push the real number higher.
| Payout on a win | Win rate to break even | In plain words |
|---|---|---|
| 70% | 58.8% | 6 of every 10, nearly |
| 75% | 57.1% | 4 of every 7 |
| 80% | 55.6% | 5 of every 9 |
| 85% | 54.1% | about 13 of every 24 |
| 90% | 52.6% | 10 of every 19 |
| 92% | 52.1% | a little over half |
Check the payout your broker offers before each session, since it shifts from pair to pair, expiry to expiry and hour to hour.
Losing runs are normal, not a fault
Even a trader who wins more often than they lose will meet long losing runs. We worked out how likely a run is over 100 trades:
| A run of | If you win 55% of trades | If you win 60% of trades |
|---|---|---|
| 4 losses in a row | 91.5% | 80.1% |
| 5 losses in a row | 64.7% | 45.9% |
| 6 losses in a row | 36.3% | 21.2% |
So a run of five losses is more likely than not for a trader who wins 55% of the time. Plan your stake for that run before it starts. Doubling the stake after each loss turns an ordinary run into an empty account.
What a Chinese Bot read is, and is not
A read from Chinese Bot, the extensions or the apps is a reading of recent candles. It weighs trend, momentum and volatility and reports how strongly they agree. It is not a forecast, and a high agreement is not a probability of winning.
A read describes the candle it was made for. On a 30 second expiry, a read that is ten seconds old is already describing a different market. NO TRADE is a real answer and the cheapest one to follow.
Fast expiries leave no room to think
Expiries of a minute or less are the most popular and the hardest to trade well. Price noise is large next to the move you need, a delay of a second changes the entry, and the speed invites one trade after another. If you are new, start on the slow expiries, which are also the ones the free plan opens.
OTC pairs are the broker's own market
When the currency market closes, brokers keep quoting OTC pairs. These prices come from the broker, not from an open exchange, and they can behave unlike the live pair with the same name. We cannot see how a broker builds them. Treat OTC as its own market, with its own results.
Your money never passes through us
ChineseBots is not a broker. We do not take deposits, hold balances or place trades with your money. Everything you deposit, win or lose stays between you and your broker, under the broker's terms and the regulator that covers it, if any.
Many binary options brokers are not regulated where you live. In some countries binary options are banned for retail traders. Checking that is your job, and it comes before any signal.
We may earn when you join a broker
Some brokers pay us a referral fee when someone opens an account through our links. Those fees keep the free plan running, and they are one reason those brokers appear on our pages. A read never changes because of it. The Disclaimer explains these payments.
Do not trade if any of this is true
- You have not yet turned 18, or you are below the legal adult age in your country.
- The money is meant for rent, food, bills, school or a debt.
- You would borrow, or use a credit card, to fund the account.
- You are trading to win back a loss.
- Binary options are not legal for you where you live.
A short checklist for every session
- Practise on the broker's demo account until your results are steady.
- Pick one stake per trade before the first read, and do not change it until the session ends.
- Set a daily loss limit, and close the platform when you reach it.
- Write down every trade: pair, expiry, read, result. Judge the tool on that record.
- Stop after three losses in a row and take a break, whatever the next read says.
When it stops feeling like a choice
If you chase losses, hide trading from people close to you, or feel restless when you are not trading, stop. Talk to someone you trust or to a gambling support service in your country. Our support team will close your licence on request and will not try to talk you out of it.
