Two reasons to write to us
This page is for two kinds of report. The first: something on our site is your work and you did not allow us to use it. The second: someone is copying our work, for example selling a modified ChineseBots app or posting our reads as their own channel.
Our process follows the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512), which most platforms and rights holders use.
Where our content comes from
Our text, page layouts, tool screens, custom icons and artwork are our own work or used under licence. Broker, browser and store marks belong to their owners and appear only to show where a tool works. Visitors cannot upload anything, so any problem here is ours to fix.
Your notice, step by step
Email support@chinesebots.com with the subject Copyright notice, and include:
- your name and how to reach you;
- the work you own, described or linked;
- the exact address of each page here that uses it;
- a line saying you honestly believe the use has no permission from you, your agent or the law;
- your sworn confirmation, under penalty of perjury, that every detail is correct and that you own the right in question or act for its owner;
- your signature, on paper or electronic; a typed full name is enough.
A notice missing one of these may be returned to you for completion.
What happens after
We confirm receipt within two working days. If the notice is complete and the claim stands, we remove or replace the material and tell you when it is done. We keep a copy of the notice for our records.
If you think a removal was wrong
If something of yours was removed because of a notice, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with:
- your name, address, phone number and email;
- what was removed and where it was;
- your sworn confirmation, under penalty of perjury, that you honestly think the removal came from a mistake or a mix-up;
- that you accept the jurisdiction of the US federal district court where you live (or, from outside the US, a court where the notice sender is based) and will accept papers that sender serves;
- your signature.
We forward it to the sender. If 10 working days pass with no proof from the sender that a court case has begun, the material may go back online.
Repeat infringers
Where we run accounts, we close those of people found more than once to infringe others' rights.
Send only what you know to be true
Under the DMCA, a person who knowingly misstates a notice or a counter-notice can owe damages and costs. Unsure whether a use is allowed? Ask a lawyer before you write.
